I had the most wonderful miracle for the last transfer of my mission.
We found a lady that has been prepared by angels.
We knocked on her door about a week ago and presented our message in about 3 minutes at the door. She was super interested in the Book of Mormon. We gave her a copy and than asked to fix an appointment but she said no! The rest of the night I felt guilty that I didn’t try harder to fix an appointment. I prayed for this lady that night. The next day I kept on thinking about this lady and how we didn’t fix an appointment. We were leaving the island that night to go to the mission office for transfers and we had to take the boat. Right before taking the boat we stopped to knock on some doors. I turned to my colleague and told him that we need to knock on the same lady’s door again. I told him that I knew exactly what we needed to say. So we went and knocked on her door. She said she didn’t have any time but I asked for just 1 minute. I explained that I hadn’t been able to forget her or her family, that I had been praying for her and that the message we share is the most important thing in the world to me. I told her that I needed her to give us just 30 minutes another day to share our message. She said yes right away. I felt like angels were in control because it was just so perfect. After taking the boat for transfers, my new colleague and I returned to Corsica. Our first day back on the island we were able to teach this lady. It was just a perfect lesson. She understood everything and we could see the spirit working on her as we taught. It felt so guided by angels and the spirit. At the end of the lesson it was just so perfect, we invited her to be baptized on the 26th of October, the last Saturday of my mission. She said yes. Since then, we have taught her a bunch and every time she just gets more and more excited. She came to church for the first time this week and at the end she said “This is Christ’s church”, “We need to help Him fill this place up”. She is just so incredible. It is just such a wonderful miracle and I felt like I did nothing and it was all the Lord’s doing. She just keeps on surprising us with every visit, as we see the spirit making a difference in her life.
Miracles happen. There are people being prepared by the Lord.
Another miracle is my colleague.
His name is Elder Johnson.
Check this out.
My name is Elder Ioannidis.
When you translate my name from Greek to English
it literally means Johnson.
We have the same name.
Ioan is Greek for John and Ioannidis means Son of John or Johnson.
Isn’t that super cool.
Even before he was transferred here, I felt like he was going to be my colleague. When I found out it was true, I hit my knees and thanked my Heavenly Father for sending me an angel for my last transfer of my mission.
He is really awesome. I picked him up from the airport the first day of his mission when I was an assistant. I thought he was the coolest guy ever and now I am serving with him. I am being hyper blessed at this moment.
Well I love you all loads,
Thanks for being the best family ever
Hey sorry got no time
Here is my new companion and I
We are alive and doing well
I got good news,
I do not need surgery!!!!!!!!
The doctor says that I can’t do any intense sporting activities for the next 2 months or so and that everything will be healed up. He says it is a 2/5 for severeness of injury. As for the dog bites, Corsica does not have any problems with Rabbies so I am all good for the dog bites, no need to worry.
Hey Dad, super cool Hiking trip.
Seems so amazing to be in the trees and out in the wild.
It must be a great stress reliever.
Thanks for sending the photos.
I am super excited for our family trip.
I would love to see and visit with Our Missionaries.
I would love to go to a temple or temples.
I would love to see temple square with all the lights and the snow.
It would be also cool to meet up with some of my colleagues and friends from my mission.
I do not need any supplies from home, I have everything I need here.
Thanks for always asking, I appreciate your willingness to send me things if needed, you are the best.
On a more spiritual note:
This Saturday and Sunday was Stake Conference.
We were connected by SKYPE.
It was very difficult to hear but we were able to hear Elder Axel H. Leimer of the 70 speak. His talk was very very powerful.
He spoke about what it will be like to meet the Saviour.
He said it will be the perfect moment.
He compared it to 3 Nephi 11 when the nephites are able to come one by one and touch the resurrected Saviour’s nail prints.
He will hug us and in that moment, it will be the perfect moment.
All fear, sorrows, pains, worries and darkness will be completely gone.
It will just be the perfect moment.
He invited us to imagine this moment.
Needless to say it was an extremely powerful talk.
The Sunday session was extremely difficult to hear, so we decided to have our regular Sacrament meeting. There was nothing prepared because we thought we would be attending Conference by Skype.
Everything was on the fly, the hymns, prayers, the talks.
I must say that I was very grateful because the spirit was super super strong. I asked two people to share their insights and feeling about the Saturday session and as well as asked another member to bear a testimony. It was a very powerful sacrament meeting and I was grateful for that sweet spirit which we felt despite the fact we were unable to watch Stake Conference as we would have liked to.
I love you all, you are lovely
So Zone Conference was awesome.
I learn things that are very difficult to describe in words but they are things that are super super important and will shape my whole life.
I learn’t some new things that I had never realized before about Jesus Christ and his example of loving service.
I am realizing more and more what is expected of me. I am realizing what it really means to follow the Saviour.
I have decided that one of the great purposes of my life is not to just to say I believe in Christ and that I love Him but show by my actions that I believe in Christ and I love Him. I want to say through my actions I love my Saviour and I am so grateful for Him. Now comes the hard part, I need this to really become who I am, I need this to change my heart and need to LIVE this.
I have been pondering over this for a long time now.
As for more shallow news,
I will be seeing a specialist today for my shoulder.
My bite marks are on their way to becoming scars (I hope they will look super cool). I feel like I am in good physical shape and that everything is going to be fine and everything is going to heal up well.
I found out that in the Ecully Ward in Lyon, the members prayed for me. I do not know how they found out about the accident but I was touched and a felt a little guilty to know that they prayed for me. Some members and amis even sent me letters and I received a package full of candy as well. Needless to say, I feel very very loved.
The other night as I was saying my personal evening prayer, I felt a great sense of Gratitude. I felt so grateful for all the blessing I have. I felt so grateful for my amazing family and friends. I really feel like I have just the most wonderful friends ever. I felt so grateful that I am healthy and that I was able to receive the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ which has shaped everything in my life and is shaping who I am. I just felt so much gratitude, it was a wonderful feeling.
Well, I love you all loads,
Sounds like you all had a wonderful week.
Jammed packed with wonderful events.
Dad is someone who is always super prepared and he always goes the extra mile to make things as they should be. I am sure that your Trek experience was greatly blessed by his preperation.
Mom you are always inspiring to me. You are always doing something productive and wonderful, even when you are supposed to be taking a holiday. You are a go getter and that is a great quality to have.
My wounds are all healing up super super well.
I feel like each day I have more and more range of motion and strength in my shoulder. I am back to running again each morning as I can now run without feeling any pain in my shoulder.
This week we had a branch activity. We played Petanque (I do not know if that exists in English but it is a game similar to bocce ball). Petanque is a super super popular sport here in Corsica. We had a lot of members present at the activity as well as our amis. We had lots of fun playing Petanque and spending time together. Like I have said in the past, it is so wonderful to see how well integrated our amis are with the members, it is really great.
Our ami Danny is almost done reading the Book of Mormon for the second time and he has such an incredible Gospel Knowledge. He says really smart and funny things. He and his family really desire to experience the change of heart and that is what they are praying for. They do not want to be robotic but they want to really have a changed heart. It is so wonderful that this is their desire.
This week we are going to Zone interview conference.
It is always lovely to be able to see President, his family and the other missionaries.
Well I love you all loads,
